Spontaneous Weekender: Mag-Aso Falls

The highlight of our trip was probably visiting a hidden natural treasure in Negros: the Mag-Aso Falls.

In my previous post, we visited Negros to unwind. Since we’re here, my aunt suggested we go and visit the falls.

Mag-Aso Falls is situated at Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan of Negros Occidental. The place was roughly about 30-45 minute drive from my aunt’s place in Himamaylan. If you come from Bacolod City, my nearest guestimate would be 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Once you reached the place, you’ll be asked to pay an environmental fee (Php 50 per person). This was a quick visit but they also have cottages and rooms if you plan to stay overnight, price ranging from Php 1,000 – Php 1,500 per night.

Take Note: There are alot of stairs. Haha.

The first few flights will bring you to this impeccable man-made spring.

The lower stairs will then bring you to the majestic falls. It’s really beautiful.

There’s even a fallen tree that has become a bridge over the river.

The water was so clear I regretted not bringing a swimsuit. Haha

And quoting my cousin, this place is quite “instagram-worthy” haha

I’m definitely making a second trip back, and would bring my friends.

If you guys want to unwind, this place is definitely worth the travel.
